A Dartmouth man who was reported missing earlier this week was found dead Wednesday afternoon, according to Dartmouth Police.

Police said the department received a call at around 2:45 p.m. from a woman stating that she believed to have found the body of Anthony “Tony” Medeiros in the woods just south of 1344 Tucker Road.

Upon arrival, police confirmed the body was in fact Medeiros.

His cause of death is currently under investigation by Dartmouth detectives and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, but it does not appear to be suspicious.

“Please keep the Medeiros family in your collective thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the police department wrote in a Facebook post.

Medeiros was initially reported missing Monday morning after he left his home without his phone, wallet, and vehicle. According to police, he was dealing with mental health issues.
